I'm not familiar with that model... My impression is they made a lot of changes on the Brave 8 from earlier models.
@@GenXPats sent back try another one The 7le looks good with external Mike so ordered one If next one not work go with more expensive GoPro Akaso includes 2 batteries + charger (works). And bunch of stuff most connects to waterproof case 1 connector for tripod ect
I've already asked you about the assembly and feel somewhat more confident about being able to assemble this by myself. Right now, its between this bike and and regular cruiser type with regular 26" street tires. How much more stable/safer is a fat tire bike, especially when riding at higher speeds? I really like your review and its the main reason for considering this bike along with its lower price of $1.5K vs. $1.9K or more most other Ebike are priced at (as of 6/2024). Also, Amy claiming this bike as hers is a good sign for its safety and comfort.
Hi Daniel, IMHO the fat tires really stand out on gravel, sand, grass... anything other than street riding. If you were doing all street riding I would think street tires would last longer. We have had no problems with stability and feel quite comfortable riding at 28 MPH stability/safety wise. I would spray all the stainless with corrosion block... they seem to rust over time, but that seems to be similar with all of these bikes.
@@GenXPats If I go fat tire - it will be the Velowave Ranger 2. For the price, its one of the best deals out there. Thank you

Interesting. Not what we've experienced at all. Prices in Guatemala are about 1/3 of the US. We spend six months in the US and the rest of the year in Guatemala and Belize so we are experiencing the out of control inflation in the US first hand.

Thank you for that well put togather take on the Brave 8 camera vs the GoPro. My own journey with the Brave 8, which I purchased about 2 months ago has been similar. 09:45 I have been unable to connect my excellent Fullaim X5 stereo wireless mic to the Brave 8 using a standard USB-C to 3.5mm jack cable, becasue Akaso do not use a standard USB-C male to 3.5mm TRS jack cable / pinout. Why they do this, I do not know. There is a tiny chip inside the standard USB-C to 3.5mm TRS jack, that everyone else uses, on the USB-C plug, that you can't see, that converts the digital audio signal to analogue on the TRS side. This is done on the cable itself. But the Akaso cable is wired differently, which is infuriating. If you open a support ticket with Akaso and complain about this issue saying it makes the camera a "no-go" rather than a "go-pro", explaining all your reasoning, and point to your video they will send you their own internal wireless mic for $18 US, after a bit of back and forth. This mic they have is not yet available commercially. This technology lock in does not fix the debilitatiing "non-standards" issue. What will fix it is them selling a USB-C to 3.5mm TRS jack adapter cable, making the camera compatiable with the same audio output standard as everyone else. That they do output and input on their audio interface differently to everyone else is very odd. May be explain to them, as well, as I have done, that this will cause them a loss of sales. That should motivate the change. Thanks again, good video
We appreciate your in-depth response and my hope is the same... I hope they work out the audio issue. We love everything else about the camera!
"realtime" software stabilization is burning any small devices even for phones. theres a bunch of algorithm going on just to stabilize real-time the frame by frame of a video. making you go for a bigger processor like your pc or slower process and later conversion on an app is the cheat way for it. overheating a minidevice is suicide
It was amazing pulling the fish out of the water...tasted so good!
We drop 18% ish of 1108AH house over night, and it is charged up by, typically around 1-2PM. We are doing electric cooking. If I run the water maker for 90 min it is charged up by maybe 4PM. We have about 2100W but I see a max of about 30-40% of that actually landing in the batter as net charge (regardless of the rating on the panels). If the system could be optimized it would charge even faster but it is over complicated with dedicated MPPT's per panel and they "fight" with each other with one MPPT's charing voltage simulating a higher batter voltage than the batteries have at rest which causes the others to go into Absorption or Float and throttle the charging they would (individually) be capable of. So, your 1400Watts, *if well choreographed* should be plenty.
We run our A/C about 8 hours a night and run an induction cook top and if we have a sunny day we can make back all we use... usually right at the end of the day. I am seeing a D/C drain that I can't seem to track down. I may need a pro to take a look!
@@GenXPats The Victron Multiplus (If John installed that) takes a steady DC pull even if everything else is off. I'd have to experiment to see what ours pulls.
@@SV-Flying-Tigress Yes, even with that off I still have a DC pull... The more solar the larger the pull. I think it may be something to do with the smart shunt and the algorithm it uses. I need to find out what it is because it's driving me nuts just not knowing! lol

Ok, I have Google and a calculator and am waiting for aa battery to charge, so here goes: Out of an estimated 34 million boats worldwide, 2,550,148 are sailboats. Of the sailboats, *assuming* 20 percent, or 510,029, of those are 25 feet or over and have a mast that is “climb-able” vs lending itself to unstepping for maintenance and inspection. *Assuming* each has had an average of three still-living owners and two of those owners have climbed their mast at least once. that means around 1,020,058 people have climbed their own mast and another 50,000 marine professionals have done so on customer boats. We have then an estimated 1,070,058 people, out of all people in the world, who have climbed a mast. Out of a world population of 7.951 billion, that means only 1.3 out of every 10,000 have gone up the mast. Bad to the bone indeed!
The dude is a pro... I have gone up my mast, but looking at him, I have a lot to learn! I had Amy "lift" me up the mast, and it damn near killed her. This dude was at the top before I got tired!
I just got one from Walmart with 300 watts of solar panels for 1370 bucks tax included and free shipping 😊
That's not a bad deal at all... Is it LiFePO4?
@@GenXPats yes
@@Spiderman-tg9ke I can tell you we have used the Eenour that I reviewed in earlier video all this season sailing and I am very happy with it. The fact that it has a 30A RV plug made me lean that way.
Why would anyone get this junk camera for $289 when they can get a Hero 10 for $220? Bleh
Got dual motor model really like it 😊
This model has so many names. I have the same bike in black. Different name. It is beefy.
I have been enjoying it! This has been my go to bike as of late.
Nice review! Does this have cruise? If so, how does it work? Thank you!
Yes, it does have cruse. If you keep the throttle at the same speed for 8 seconds the cruse control turns on. If you hit the break it turns off.
This is not a GoPro killer. It's suicide😂
Their software lets them down big time, as for the audio they have a external mic adapter available and a wireless mic system but you'll have to work hard to get it for some reason known only to akaso they keep it a big secret😂
I agree... the audio needs work. If you could connect an external mic like the DJI this camera would be substantially more usable!
@@GenXPats you can I have the official akaso usbc mic adapter and wireless microphone 👌

Bienvenidos a Guatemala 🇬🇹
Thanks for the feedback!
well my friend, the App and image stabilisation are a pain in the butt and the volors are way too bad, othervise it coulsd maybe be great.
I agree with both of these, but the overheating with the GoPro has made it pretty much useless for what we do. I use the Akaso more than my GoPro but not as much as my DJI Action.
@@GenXPatsdji action is the best true

I agree but they have made major improvements and are getting close!
Man! My black one is sharp. I love it. But that white? wow. Slick!
I know, right! I initially thought white would be kinda boring, but with the color differences... I love it! I get a lot of people stop me and ask me about the bike. This is the bike I always take out when we are just going out for a ride.
So you can actually charge the solar generator with a little gas fueled inverter generator? You never hear of that option. I have a small GENMAX 1200w. Would that work? nice review. Thanks. subed your channel.
Thanks for the sub and the comment. Yes that would work just fine. You should be able to fully charge it in about 2 hours with that generator. The benefit is you can use the solar generator most of the time and use the small gas fueled generator to recharge if you don't have enough solar that day. I am doing the same thing on a boat right now. I use mostly solar but if I don't have enough solar I will top up the portable power station with a Honda 2000i generator before I go to bed for the night. Works through the night till the sun comes back up the next day!
@@GenXPats Great to hear. Thanks a lot for the reply. Very much appreciated.
I bought a Zebra last August and have ridden over 1500 miles on it. It's a great ride!
That's awesome! It's the bike that I ride, and I've loved it so far.
What kind of range have you gotten? Nice review.
Hi Mark, thanks for the compliment. I got 48 miles on a single charge. Full disclosure... I used pedal assist 3 and pedaled. Also I did not drain the battery completely. I rode until I had about 10% battery left. (Last bar on the battery indicator and flashing)
I Wanna ride !!!
I think they only put the folds in these type of ebikes to eject the battery they take up more space when folded easier to just slip in a wheel stand or cupboard when not folded the screen doesn't work if you wear polarised lenses it's just a black screen just as a heads up
Folding does take up less space or "Different Space" is a better word. I can only put two unfolded bikes in the back of my truck, but if I fold them I can put four in there. As far as the screen goes, I would agree for the most part. Most of these screens you can't see if you wear polarized glasses and they are difficult to read in the sun. That's the reason I pointed this out specifically... This screen you can see clearly in the sun with polarized glasses on.
how long will this unit run a dometic cooler before it needs to be charged
Do you know how many watts the cooler draws?
Is it comparable to ecoflow wave 2?
Hi James, I have not tested the ecoflow, so I cannot say for sure. The thing that stands out to me the most is the ecoflow has a battery and can run as a stand alone unit... The Eenour cannot. The Eenour has to be connected to a seperate power supply.
Awesome review Shane! Is this worth taking on the boat with you to use as a redundant electrical system and would that work?
It is... I have plans to make a video showing just that. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so.
How many hours did the air conditioner run off the solar generator ?
Hey Jerry... The A/C lasted 8 hours with the A/C on Sleep Mode and at a temp of 76 Degrees. On High fan and Lowest Temp setting it lasted 4 hours and 10 Mins. It may have lasted longer if I was in a smaller room so that it could keep the temperature regulated and the compressor could kick off. The room I tested this in really pushed the limit of what the unit could do as I explained in the video testing the PA600.
Do you have any insight as to when the manufacturer is going to produce any more?
Thanks for watching the channel. I have reached out to Eenour to see if I can get an answer for you. I also have another video coming out in the next week or two that might be another option for you... Stay tuned and we appreciate you.
Thanks for letting us know. It appears to be temporarily unavailable...I've reached out to our contact and will give you an update as soon as I hear back.
Hi Wandering... We reached out to Eenour but they didn't know when they would have the F2000 back in stock. Take a look at this Allpowers I just reviewed, it is very similar. ua-cam.com/video/g6uo00KPeRk/v-deo.htmlsi=QZJvGUHLv0BNHR8c Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. If you have any specific questions I will answer to the best of my ability.
Shane, would you say it's best to purchase a folding or a non folding bike if folding is not necessarily needed? I guess I would like to have the convenience of folding if I need it, but I don't see myself needing it that much. I am wondering if I choose the folding option if I lose anything. Like, are the frames not as strong or do they make noise or loosen up as time goes on? Love your reviews and love looking at different options out there as you test all these different bikes!
That's a tough question... It would depend on your space and weight constraints. Folding bikes are generally heavier, but you are not giving up strength or quality in the frame IMHO. I have enjoyed both and I am finding out all bikes and manufactures have their pros and cons... I try to put them all in the videos.
I’m thinking of buying the Eenour f2000 & or the pecron e2000elf. Could you give me an update on how your f2000 is working & if you would recommend it? Any input would be helpful. It says they give a 5-year warranty. Thank you.
Hi Billy, I like the F2000 a lot. In fact i'm helping a friend sail his boat across the Gulf and I am bringing this as a complete electrical backup for his house bank on his boat. I don't know if it's any better or worse construction wise in the long run, but here are the things I like. Its LiFePO4 (safety for a boat) 1800 watt fast charging, can charge the thing fully in just over an hour. 1000 watt solar charging capacity, so it can charge in 2 hours. Love that it has a 30A and a 24V plug as well. E Multiply Technology works well, it allows you to use up to 3200W constant power (if you’re not using equipment that requires a surge load to get started). If you have any specific questions, I will try to answer what I can.
Thank you, sir. One last question, i just bought one a few moments ago off of amazon & it shows it has 5-year warranty. Is that warranty come with yours also? Trying to make sure it's just not written there & then find out later its less. Thanks, again & love your channel!@@GenXPats
@@KYHill-billy When you purchase you just purchase it through amazon like you regularly would. If you use our link amzn.to/3t5L9LE they know it comes from us. When you use the link select the F2000. We would appreciate if you use the link but it's by no means necessary. The 5 year warranty is listed in our link as well. We appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you and good luck!
Looks perfect for our boat as lifting the mars or the thunder 1f would be much heavier. Also, how much do you need to pedal to get throttle working? This would be for my wife. Usually due to our boat length we find ourselves on t-heads. Wife has pretty bad back and this would help dramatically. She sometimes sits on my dahon foldable and uses her feet to push off the dock to allow not to walk the whole distance. thanks in advance Capt Kev
Hi Capt Kev, Thanks for checking out our channel. When I looked at the other folding bikes that's the conclusion I came to. They would be too heavy and bulky to easily transport on a boat. You need to do 1/2 to 1 full revolution of the pedal and then you can take over with the throttle. I will say this, the throttle will go 20 MPH even if you are just in pedal assist one, but you can control the speed with the amount of throttle you give the bike. It does take a little bit getting used to so maybe practice somewhere other than the dock that first time! lol
Thanks, almost bought one, but lack of hydraulic brakes (brake handles squeeze easier) and a seat that you can’t adjust the backward and forward tilt (because it flips upward to remove battery) was what killed it for me. Otherwise, I agree a great deal, but with extra $100 off coupon code the Ranger S was a deal hard to beat too, and you get the one piece rims and step through frame.
Agree on all points, but you can adjust the tilt on the saddle. The adjustments are the same as a regular seat there is just the additional handle that releases from the seat past and flips up to get access to the battery. I haven't tested the Ranger S but it looks to be a great option as well. Good luck with your decision!
